In the 2003 Poker Million, snooker player Jimmy White won the $360,000 event, causing one of the biggest upsets in world poker having been a 100-1 outsider.
In 2004 $300,000 was won by the Irish pro, Donnacha O’Dea, after a memorable ‘heads up’ battle with Dave “The Devilfish” Ulliott, arguably England’s greatest ever player.
The 2005 winner Anthony Jones beat Sky Sports Soccer AM presenter Helen Chamberlain in the final to win Europe’s most coveted poker prize, $1,000,000 cash. He had qualified via the Poker Million internet competition. Hundreds of thousands watched the 2005 Poker Million Final.
In 2006 the total prize pot is $2,440,000 with the winner taking home a cool $1,200,000.
